Brunel Academies Trust (Brunel), together with its subsidiary company Brunel Education (BE) is a 0 - 25 multi-academy trust (MAT) specialising in the Special Education and Primary Education sectors. The organisation has the experience, skills and expertise to focus on Primary and Special Education enabling the development of diverse quality provisions while maintaining high standards and performance which will improve the life chances and outcomes of all children and young people, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Brunel and BE work in partnership with their charitable partner, Uplands Enterprise Trust (UET).

The Brunel Academies Trust and Brunel Education Boards are looking to bring the expertise of senior leaders in the business world, public sector or the professions in order to raise standards of education and improve the life chances of children and young people.

The role of Trustee in education is a strategic commitment which typically involves attending six board meetings per year; between 10 and 16 hours time per month. You will attend full board meetings and sit on a relevant committee.

All roles are pro bono

Person Description

Brunel Academies Trust and Brunel Education are seeking business leaders with board-level experience in any of the following areas:

  • human resources
  • legal/compliance
  • finance at CFO level (with accountancy qualifications)
  • strategic leadership
  • growth/change management
  • corporate governance
  • IT/digital transformation
  • estates/facilities management
  • branding/marketing
  • education leadership

The key functions of the board are:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
