Horizons College is an exciting and unique provision in a specialist facility for young adults aged 16-25 who have severe or profound multiple learning difficulties and or complex needs. The College is based over two sites, Stratton Road and Headlands Campuses. The college offers lots of opportunities to learn and progress through a range of learning environments such as our farm, warehouse and retail provisions as well as through partnerships with local employers.
The College provides a holistic learning programme for young people which is challenging, relevant and fun to support individual progression and preparation for adulthood. It is specifically aimed at learners with a range of learning and physical disabilities including those with complex medical and therapeutic needs and/or sensory processing difficulties. Some may have additional complex social and behavioural related needs.
In order to meet this wide range of needs learners require a specialist provision including: purposely designed accommodation, access to a range of expert and multi-agency support such as physiotherapists and occupational therapists, visually and hearing impaired specialists amongst others.
